Hot air balloon flight in Kaunas
From above, Kaunas stands out with the confluence of Lithuania’s two largest rivers, its interwar architecture, and wide green spaces. During the flight, you can see the Old Town, the Nemunas islands, and the city gradually giving way to calmer natural landscapes.
Flights in Kaunas are perfect for those who want to experience a hot air balloon flight surrounded by the city, while still quickly drifting toward more open views. We usually take off from Santaka Park and soon leave the city centre behind, moving away from the airport zone.
Kaunas has more airspace restrictions, so flights only take place with certain wind directions and very good visibility. Flight altitude is also limited here, but it is worth sacrificing a little height to see the confluence of the Nemunas and Neris rivers.

"Man atrodė, kad bus sunku keltis tokiu ankstyvu metu, bet kai pamačiau švintančio dangaus groži, tiesiog pradingo visi miegai. Neitikėtina, kai slenka rūkas virš medžiu, o tu matai visa tai iš viršaus."

Flight registration
After purchasing a ticket, you must contact us by phone to arrange the flight time.
If you have only one specific day on which you can fly, we recommend calling before purchasing a ticket – this way we can immediately assess the options and register you.
When registering, it is important to inform us about:
- health conditions or injuries
- pregnancy (balloon flights are generally not recommended during pregnancy)
- mobility restrictions
If you have any doubts about your ability to fly, it is always best to first consult a doctor and inform the pilot. If we know about the situation in advance, in certain cases we can offer a flight in completely calm wind conditions (usually early in the morning).
Important: if a passenger arrives without informing us about a health condition that could pose a danger to themselves and others, the pilot has the right to refuse to take them on the flight – this is done for the passenger's own safety.
Preparing for the flight
We suggest dressing according to the current weather; once the balloon lifts off, the temperature will remain almost the same. It may be cooler in the morning before takeoff, and in the evening after landing.
Key information:
- We are unable to wait for late flight participants. The takeoff time is strictly planned according to weather conditions, and even a 15-minute delay can cause complications during the flight.
- Comfortable, closed shoes are very important. Flying in high heels is prohibited for both your safety and the safety of the balloon.
- Please do not bring large backpacks or extra items, as space in the basket is limited.
- Make sure you have a safe place to store your photography equipment and mobile phones during takeoff and landing.
- We recommend bringing a hat or hood, as the burners above your head emit heat.
- We often land in meadows where the grass may be wet, so we advise choosing suitable clothing.
- If you bring glass containers (e.g., soft drinks), you must have a safe place to store them before landing.
- Flying under the influence of alcohol is prohibited.
During the flight
The flight is calm and smooth; apart from the landing, there is no shaking or turbulence at all. However, the course of the flight is always a bit unpredictable – even the pilot does not know the exact landing spot in advance, as it depends on the wind direction.
During the flight, you are free to chat with the pilot – we even encourage it, as our pilots love sharing knowledge about balloons and incredible flight stories! However, it is very important to follow the pilot's instructions throughout the flight and to let them concentrate during landing and unplanned situations.
Also important:
- Listen carefully to the flight briefing before takeoff
- Do not touch the equipment before or during the flight
- Stay calm and do not disrupt the course of the flight
In somewhat stronger wind, you will need to hold on with both hands during landing, as the basket may bounce off the ground several times before coming to a complete stop. This is a completely safe and even very fun experience – the most important thing is to follow the pilot's instructions!
Flight postponement due to weather conditions
Safety always comes first.
Flights are not conducted in the following conditions:
- strong wind
- precipitation
- probability of storms
- unstable weather conditions
We monitor the weather constantly and respond to changes in forecasts in real time using precipitation radars. Therefore, it is very important to understand that we may postpone a flight even in nice weather, because we see that conditions may change during the flight.
In such cases, the flight is rescheduled to the nearest day, and if you are unable to attend any other flight, your money is refunded.
You can find more information on our page about the impact of weather conditions on hot air balloon flights.
How we ensure your safety
Equipment:
- the balloon has an extremely sturdy construction
- even in case of damage, the balloon can land safely
- the basket – a reinforced metal structure with shock-absorbing finishing
- all equipment is regularly inspected and certified
Pilots:
- are licensed and continuously improve their qualifications
- undergo regular medical check-ups
- regularly participate in training
Operations:
- we operate in accordance with European aviation safety requirements
- we have established procedures for efficient operations
- a safety briefing is conducted before every flight
If you are flying with children
We'd love to have your little ones join the flight! We just kindly ask that you first make sure your child understands how the balloon flight will go and is genuinely excited for the experience.
If you are not sure or think that the child might be frightened by the loud burners or the size of the balloon, we invite you to watch a takeoff in advance! Contact us and we will provide you with a flight location and time where you can come and see up close how the process works.
If you decide that the child is ready for this adventure, a few rules apply:
- under no circumstances may the child be lifted during the flight
- the child must be able to support themselves during landing
- the recommended minimum height is 130 cm (so they can easily see over the top of the basket)
- please inform us during registration that you are flying with a child
- children aged 16 and over may fly alone (with written parental consent)
